Scott Kohner: Couples Therapy

“A thought transfixed me: for the first time in my life I saw the truth as it is set into song by so many poets, proclaimed as the final wisdom by so many thinkers. The truth—that love is the ultimate and the highest goal to which man can aspire. Then I grasped the meaning of the greatest secret that human poetry and human thought and belief have to impart: The salvation of man is through love and in love.” – Viktor Frankl

Couples Therapy

Love is central to the human experience. Loving someone and sustaining this love is a sometimes difficult but very rewarding and empowering thing. Conflict is inevitable in any relationship; how we approach and resolve this conflict is essential to a relationship’s success over time.

When under stress, many couples find themselves locked in patterns of dysfunctional ways of interacting with each other that they don’t know how to break. These patterns will lead to increased opposition that in turn undermines connection. Couples therapy can help you break those patterns and lead to increased affection, trust, communication, respect, and understanding between you and your partner.
